Raven Darkholme first discovered she wasn't like other girls at the age of twelve. Eventually, she could be the all-American blonde, the kind mother figure or even a more grown-up version of herself - but none of those were really her.

Shortly after that, she met Charles Xavier, and realized she didn't have to be alone.

She may be a mutant, but the more time that passes, the more she's convinced that she doesn't need to hide who she is.
